The New Catalogue

Manzoni. Catalogo generale

Created in collaboration with the Piero Manzoni Archive, "Manzoni. Catalogo generale" is the first complete cataloguing of the work of Piero Manzoni.
Commissioned by the artist's heirs, Germano Celant documents all of Manzoni's creative digressions, cataloguing, by means of direct inspection and scientific analysis, all the works in existence, which total 1229 published works, over 400 of which reproduced in colour.

Germano Celant

Germano Celant (Genoa, 1940) is Senior Curator for Contemporary Art at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum (New York) and contributing editor of the magazines Artforum and Interview, New York.
He is also responsible for the "Arts" feature of the weekly L'Espresso, Rome.

Author of over fifty publications, Germano Celant earned an international reputation with his theories on Arte Povera.
In 1996 he was artistic co-director of the first Florence Biennale, devoted to "Art and Fashion", and, in 1997, was curator of the 47th International Exhibition of Art The Biennale of Venice.

He has also published numerous articles, books and catalogues dealing with Piero Manzoni, comprising Piero Manzoni (Serpentine Gallery - Edizioni Charta, 1998) and Manzoni (Electa, 1992).
